Our Marie pen is one very simple, yet very elegant, pen kit. The centre band is comprised of continuous, unbroken rights joined together to form an unbreakable bond. The end cap is symbolic of the North Star - a landmark with which to always find your way home, while the pen clip is embellished with a sunflower in bloom. The Marie pen is stunning, and will make a very unique and meaningful gift for someone with whom you have a special bond.
As each of our pens are custom made from a range of stunning timbers, each piece is genuinely one of a kind. Red Bloodwood is a medium-sized Australian hardwood that grows along the coastal areas of New South Wales and Queensland. Taking its common name from the appearance of its heartwood, Red Bloodwood ranges from a dark pink to dark red colour, with much paler sapwood. It has a course texture, with the grain usually interlocked. Due to the presence of concentric gum veins, Red Bloodwood is not ideally suited for use as sawn timber as gum veins – or the red-coloured kino veins – can open up during drying. This species is mainly used for round timber applications such as poles, piles and posts, however due to its attractive grain pattern, Red Bloodwood is also used for veneers and decorative paneling. It can be difficult to turn but when it works the results are spectacular.
Beautifully presented in a deluxe leather pen case, our hand crafted pieces are built to last and make individual, meaningful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, events or that special someone. You could even consider this beautifully crafted pen for your next ‘thank you’ gift or as a gorgeous keepsake for special events.
