The opulence and grandeur of the Victorian Era lives on in this extravagant, elaborately designed and absolutely striking pen. Inspired by European Baroque style, the Elizabeth blends intricately cast decorative motifs including scrolling foliage, garlands and flowers. The band features a stylised leaf design further showcasing inspiration from the natural world. The finished pen is hefty and provides a substantial writing feel. The Elizabeth is a solid and beautiful nod to the past.
As each of our pens are custom made from a range of stunning timbers, each piece is genuinely one of a kind. Originating in Mexico and Central/South America, Bocote is primarily used in fine furniture, cabinetry, flooring, veneer, boat building, musical instruments, gunstocks, turned objects, and other small specialty wood items. It has a yellowish brown body with dramatic dark brown to almost black stripes. Its colour also tends to darken with age. The grain patterning can be quite striking, particularly on flatsawn areas. It’s not uncommon to see many “eyes” and other figuring in Bocote. It is a gorgeous timber that we source sustainably from fine furniture offcuts and wastage.
