This exquisite, hand turned ballpoint pen is truly exceptional. Made from wildly beautiful Olive timber, this Benjamin Pen is just gorgeous. One of our most versatile designs, the Benjamin Pen comes in a range of colours that can be customised to preferences.
As each of our pens are custom made from a range of stunning timbers, each piece is genuinely one of a kind. Wild Olive timber is strikingly beautiful. Indigenous to the entire Mediterranean Basin, Asia Minor is considered to have been the birthplace of the cultivated olive some six millennia ago. The Assyrians and Babylonians were the only ancient civilisations in the area who were not familiar with the olive tree. Wild Olive heartwood is a cream or yellowish brown, with darker brown or black contrasting streaks. The colour tends to deepen with age, and the timber is sometimes figured with curly or wavy grain, burl or wild grain. Wild Olive can be very tricky to work with and so is mainly a decorative or turning timber. It gives off a very pleasant, fruity smell when cut or turned.
